ABOUT the SU200/su10 are more based on loops than using samples in traditional way like the SU series in general it is made to change tempo of the beats as you change it in realtime.. dynamic pads: 10 and some endless encoders, too. the smaller SU10 and SU200 are much smaller and more like phrase samplers.. (6 and 4 voices) - SU200 made in 2000
ABOUT die SU serie und auch das top modell SU700 ist auf loops spezialisiert und hat 10 dynamische pads.. sie kann auch per endlos reglern gesteuert werden, die beats sind tempoangepasst, also ein bisschen wie in ableton live hier in hardware.. so auch generell in der SU serie ist diese funktion der kern der maschine.. die kleinen SU10 und SU200 haben 4 bzw. 6 stimmen und sind eher kleine Phrasen Sampler - SU200 made in 2000

DETAILS loops that auto tempo sync to the main clock, 10 dynamic pads (and some non dynamic ones), all ,even the smalles SU10 have ribbon controllers! no filters/LFO/envs on the su10, SU200: 800KB ram.
DETAILS loops mit tempoanpassung, quasi ableton live in hardware in erster inkarnation.. dynamische pads (10stk) plus einige ohne dynamik. alle (auch der kleine su10) haben ribbon controller! kleiner SU10 hat jedoch keinen filter/LFO/ENV. SU200: 800KB ram.

Yamaha wasn't the first synth maker but after the monsterous and heavywight CS80 the DX7 was a little revolution in sound (FM synthesis and much more realistic sounds) and sold very very well, later innovations like physical modeling did not even hit the sales of later FM synths like the SY99 or FS1R. Yamaha owns Steinberg and SCI (Sequential Circuits) and the Prophet name and had about 40% of Korg for a time.

THE MANUFACTURER
Yamaha war schon früh Musikinstrumentenhersteller, stieg aber erst 1974 mit einem Synthesizer ein, wirklich aufmerksam wurde man nach dem CS80 Monstersynthesizer vorallem durch den sehr gut verkauften DX7, dessen FM die Klänge der noch analogen Welt die Leute an "realistische Sounds" und irre dynamisch spielbar denken lies. Innovation gab es auch mit dem Physical Modelling Synthesizer VP1 und VL1, jedoch waren die kommerziell bei Weitem nicht so erfolgreich. Yamaha gehört heute auch Steinberg. Sie waren auch eine Zeit lang Eigner von Korg (40%) und hält den Namen Prophet / Sequential Circuits
