ABOUT First Ensoniq Synth, who were envolved in the Commodore C64 SID chip (sound), the ESQ1 (or ESQ-M rack) is no way a Commodore, it is very much like a Workstation exept using hi-end Samples - it can sync the OSCs and has a nice sequencer and full multi mode.
ABOUT Der erste Ensoniq-Synthesizer (man hat zuvor den SID chip des C64 erstellt, was aber nicht heisst, der ESQ klänge auch so), Der ESQ war fast eine Workstation, da er multitimbral war, einen guten Sequencer bot, nur nicht zu große und viele Sampleorgien als Wellenformen, es sind eher kurze Spektren.

DETAILS 3 LFOs und 4 ENVs per Voice with complex 6stage Structure, the 8bit sample based waveforms can be hard synced and sound quite special along with the analog filters, nice complex sequencer for real song work. VCA per Voice and almost any parameter can be modulated by ENVs, LFOs .. Oscs are more static Spectra, no long "ROM-Samples". DETAILS 3 LFOS und 4 ENVs mit vielen Segmenten waren damals wirklich sehr fett, dazu syncbare digitale Oszillatoren mit vielen Modulationsmögichkeiten, sie klingen durch ihre 8bit-Natur recht speziell, analoge Filter, sehr aufwendiger Sequencer. Layerbare Patches (halbiert dann aber Stimmenanzahl), daher LFOs und ENVs pro STIMME! fast alle Parameter können durch ENVs und LFOs moduliert werden, VCA pro Oszillator vorhanden! Bought by Emu (Emu owned by Creative Labs), originally founded in early 80ies, also were into soundchips (SID!) and then started to go into the sampler and synth business. they offered one of the first affordable samplers (mirage) and innovative synthesizers. Was the only manufacturer of polyphonic pressure keyboards.

Von Emu aufgekauft und Erfinder des polyphonen Aftertouch (Pressure), leider verkauft Emu weder Synthesizer noch diese Keyboards. Ensoniq war einer recht innovative Firma mit Wurzel bei Soundchips (SID!) und stellten einen der ersten bezahlbaren Sampler her (Mirage) und hybride Synthesizer etc. Das qualitativ gute Paris Recording System wurde leider eingestampft wie alles andere auch.
