ABOUT Emax successor with more ram (quite expansive to upgrade it to 8MB, btw.. normal EmaxII had 512KB to 2MB.. new on the Emax II and very adorable: the transform multiplication to mix/morph 2 samples to one (offline of course)
ABOUT EMax Nachfolger mit mehr Ram, leider war die Aufrüstung auf 8MB sehr teuer (512KB normal, 2MB hatten dann viele..), er brachte die Transform Multiplication ein, womit 2 samples miteinander verrechnet werden können (morphing offline)

DETAILS this sampler opened most musicians the world of really working with samples and filtering (analogue!), 16bit / 42khz. the EMU Samplers also lived from the very good EMU library of samples (hi-quality), floppy 3.5" to save your sounds. very fascinating hi-end digital processing stuff like transform multiplication made it a hi-end sampler and workstation.
DETAILS dieser sampler eröffnete vielen erstmalig wirklich wie mit einer Workstation zu arbeiten und dabei guten Klang zu haben, 42khz max, 16bit. MIDI. Die Transform Multiplication und andere Funktionen brachten ihm ein hohes Ansehen.. besonders wichtig war damals auch die EMU Library von Sounds, da einige ja immernoch zu faul zum selber machen waren (!), floppy 3.5"

Once very innovative in modular systems incl. new digital technologies and the very well known Emulator Sampler series and Sample libraries bought Ensoniq (incl their polypressure patent, but do not even sell keyboards with polypressure today..)
well, they were bought by Creative Labs and possibly thats why they no longer make hardware samplers or synthesizers and lost their compatibelity to the Mac. so overall a sad ending story of a very innovative american dream.

THE MANUFACTURER
Emu waren der Erfinder sehr innovativer Modularsysteme mit ersten digitalen Komponenten, der Emulator Sampler Reihe und kaufte die ebenso innovativee Firma Ensoniq und wurden später von Creative Labs übernommen und verkaufen leider heute weder die polypressure Technik von Ensoniq noch Hardware Sampler oder Synthesizer. Sie waren nicht nur legendär, sondern waren auch für eine gute Klangbibliothek bekannt und sehr Mac-freundlich. Das ist heute anders, keines der Prdukte heute ist Mactauglich. Sehr traurige Entwicklung aus Sicht eines Synthesizer oder Mac-Nutzers.
